This story has several things to note (chapter 1-765): *Pacing is a little janky. In the first few chapters MC becomes good at maths, and then world-class in the next hundred or so. Then the world of academia is ignored and some world-building happens. Also, MC achieves a bunch of stuff in a year, which is pretty odd. *Characterisation is basic, predictable, and without nuance. You've got a bunch of people who support the MC academically and in the family, the "dumb americans", and the opponents to the MC, who you know will get angry and potentially furtive, and may start ridiculous, but entertaining martial arts sequences as part of kidnappings and bets. That's it. No character has particular vitality or change in them, which drags down the story. However, the characters can be likeable, so the author gets that. *Chapters are brief, and have running gags. Like when people ask for Qin Luo to meet their nieces. It's somewhat interesting. *Author actually changes his story as time goes on. The system gives the MC points for detecting the "resentment" of the "scumbags", or any possible emotion early in the chapters. This stops afterwards. Also, the characterisation and interactions between characters don't really react to each other in much of a way until Shalena comes in at around chapter ~700. The characterisation improves slowly. Overall, if you can ignore the nationalism and the rough start and translations, you've got a coherent novel that improves over time and has a consistent energy to it that is an okay read.
Only first chapter and i feel the air of bullshit blowing on my face, like how the fuck do you even know that mr li is top 10 mathematics teacher in the city? Do people have list of teacher in the city? Does solving a problem depend on whether mr li is best or worst teacher in the city? I don't know what logic, and also i have been clueless about questions in my class several times but i don't remember people laughing at me, am i born on the wrong planet or what?
Fuck why would teacher chase student to the library? This is too bullshit, teachers are not only the teacher of mc but teacher of whole class, when some student runs out, teacher would generally do nothing or ask a student to go see what's up with the student , not personally running out. Or Atleast this is how it happens on my planet, i can't understand this bullshit reason so i guess this is why china is a mysterious country because how it makes sense is a mystery to me.
Who challanges someone in a library randomly for some math battle, this does not make any sense. Well i didn't hope for it to make sense either but its still too much bullshit
