I listened to the first song the protagonist made (read: stole from Earth), "Mortal Song", and it was average. I don't see how and why the author thinks this is a fitting breakout single. Different tastes, maybe? Regardless, objectively speaking, this genre is pretty niche. This wouldn't have popped off. I suggest not listening to the original songs if you don't want your suspension of disbelief broken.
Especially since side characters suck the MC's dick so much it's suffocating.

I'm impressed you found the song at all; I can't seem to find it but the lyrics of "Mortal Song" seemed decent (Chapter 6 has at least some of them translated) As to choosing that song it fit the situation, it's a song about injustice, the world not caring about not being fair and such- right after getting kicked out of the band MC wrote the lyrics for and financially supported- of course MC's going to start with an angry song expressing it.
