The first novel was sane. In this one, while similar in the details, the overall story is a convoluted mess. The start of the novel - beginning with chapter 2 - already is a really bad choice. We just accompanied Han Li for an entire novel to ascend to the immortal realm - only for it to unravel right at the start of the "immortal world arc" novel? Seriously? It gets worse from there. A huge mystery which when unraveled towards the end just SUCKS. Time travel bullshit, is all I say.
