First People in the village were sneering at him that he's good for nothing and his college degree is worthless, the moment he got something good, hypocrite villagers will ask where he got it, and even to sell it for them. Most annoying part is that stupid mc will tell them where and sell it for them at ridiculous price. I mean other buyers will buy sea cucumber at 300 per catty and he buy them at 1800,just because he's sell it 2000. I am so annoyed right now and it's just first few chapters, he could keep the location of sea cucumber secret and net all sea cucumber himself, or at least buy it 500 from others and earned price difference. I can't tolerate this stupid generosity, especially when he and his family is so poor
You can show "nationalism" even when you are fishing?? Hatsoff to the nationalistic dedication of authors... And i lost my enthusiasm for reading this novel after seeing the above mentioned tag
Read 2 chapters and it was said that the mc got a college degree in oceanology but after he got the shell he started to plunder marine life without caring about the ecology. Although he did not plunder all creatures of the same species at that place, it was mainly due to insufficient storage.
Okay, he doesn't care how many are caught as long as it doesn't cross the minimum size/weight line.
After reading 25 chapters I have to say that I am a bit disappointed with the direction that the novel is going. It seems that the mc and his fellow villagers will turn into locusts who will plunder resources and leave nothing behind, without considering the continuity of the resources. It also has slight nationalistic tendencies (the mc wants all the famous fish habitats to belong to China). I thought that the mc will have a boat and go exploring the sea but from what it seems the mc wants all the villagers to make a huge fishing fleet and go plunder other countries fishing resources.
The villagers in the mc's village are hypocrites, they scold others as profiteers but actually do the same thing.
What the h*ll does this mean?: ""He Mingde shook his head. Although Xiang Yang’s family bought crabs, most of them were around two or two ~ www.mtlnovel.com ~ two or two and five were few, and only two or two were rare."" It is supposed to be different sizes/weights but how am I supposed to know what size/weight it means?
The sea creatures are overly obedient and friendly to the mc but that can be attributed to the magic shell. What is somewhat hard to accept is that they communicate with the mc like they are humans in a sea creature's body.
The mc has no integrity, he is disgusted by the fact that a fish show was turned into a beauty pageant but when it is his turn he also wants to turn his fish exhibition into a beauty pageant.
Every marine creature in this novel is described as having a high nutritional value.
The mc and his crew are hating on people who like sashimi and any steak that is not well done.
The author forgets what they write about, for example mc put things on sale on the internet but then the author forgot about it and the mc sold those things to Mr. Li and a hundred chapters later everything goes on like the internet part never happened.
Sometimes it feels like the mc never went to college to study oceanology because he lacks common sense in that area when it is suitable for plot. The author tends to rant about irrelevant knowledge to show how precious something is, sometimes it even takes most of the chapter.
If my understanding is not wrong then the mc had a dream to buy a specific ship but the author forgot and made him buy a different one.
The mc gets a mysterious jade shell and gets superpowers related to the ocean but does not believe in ancient myths and legends,😕.
While the mc was shown to care about the marine ecology, his fellow villagers and crew do not have that consciousness, they care more about profit. For this being a fishing novel, the mc doesn't fish that often, at the start he went fishing quite often but around chapter 350 he started doing tourism. Within the 420 chapters I've read he only went fishing for longer than 2 days once, he has never gone beyond the territorial waters, and most of the novel is filled with information about marine lifeforms so it feels more like reading information about them with a bit of novel elements (though I do not know if it is true because some things that are translated mean completely different things).
The author mentioned many times that the villagers are not stupid but from what I see they are more stupid than creatures without brains, they basically look like they will sell themselves and help others count the money.
The mc also seems kind of stupid, he can't understand 90% of things that have nothing to do with fishing. It's like people are muscle heads and the mc is a fish head because his mind is filled with fish.
The Japanese are depicted as warmongers who will attack the mc for no reason on the open sea and fire a missile at the mc's ship as soon as he enters Japanese waters.
That's why I hate with tag urban life because usually always in earth, contradiction about Japan is warmongers that is before when world war 2,but now is no longer. Now is changes China is the warmongers.
