this author is a moron if he was going to write it based on the police he should have kept it that way and not made a shift towards finance, i don't understand why the mc doesn't just short the whole market if he knows there will be a stock crash. he wants to save some of the companies sure that isn't a problem but buy them low when it crashes and if you short the market before hand you will have a fuck ton of cash to spend on buy backs. either the author didn't do any research before writing it or just straight up stupid either way is negligence.
Short the market all at once? You're dumb and bankrupted. Not to mention that they already have regulations against large short selling back then the money you can get from successful day trading is more than what you will earn from some magical "short the market early". The financial turmoil didnt end in one week, it took months and there are no 1 year short order, no financial institution is stupid enough to take it. The first time the Thai baht counterattacked you're already broke enough to jump the twin towers. I stopped reading after 1997 the MC is too busy sniffing china's ass crack.
